She had an appointment.
“Varicocele. Like I said the last time, most varicoceles develop over time. Fortunately, most varicoceles are easy to diagnose and many don’t need treatment. but once a varicocele causes symptoms, it often can be repaired surgically. You see, Your spermatic cord carries blood to and from your testicles. It’s not certain what causes varicoceles. However, many experts believe a varicocele forms when the valves inside the veins in the cord prevent your blood from flowing properly. The resulting backup causes the veins to widen (dilate). This may then result in damage to the testicle and result in worsened fertility. Varicoceles often form during puberty. Varicoceles usually occur on the left side, most likely because of the position of the left testicular vein. However, a varicocele in one testicle can affect sperm production in both testicles.” The Doctor coughed then continued. “I have been advising you to go for this surgery for more than a decade and you refuse to…,well , it is your life. ” He continued, “A varicocele is a swelling of the veins that drain the testicle. It’s the most common reversible cause of male infertility.

. Although the exact reason that varicoceles cause infertility is unknown, it may be related to abnormal testicular temperature regulation

Varicoceles result in reduced quality of the sperm.Treating the varicocele can improve sperm numbers and function, and may potentially improve outcomes when using assisted reproductive techniques such as in vitro fertilization. A varicocele often produces no signs or symptoms. Rarely, it may cause pain. The pain may: vary from sharp to dull discomfort, Increase with standing or physical exertion, especially over long periods. Worsen over the course of a day, be relieved when you lie on your back. We conducted a physical examination and found a something that looked like a bag of worms, so we proceeded with the scrotal ultrasound and……..”
He shook his head. “So this is why am suffering from impotency. You see doctor, I can’t tell my wife. She would leave, I can never father a child”
“Everything will be great after the surge…” Someone pushed the door and came in.
“Surgery?” She lamented. She turned to behold her very self with her eyes.
“What do you need a surgery for?” she asked perplexed.
