Confession
DAY 4 (CONTINUES)
Nicolette was shocked. She was the last person, she expected. It was just typical of her to be late for all her appointments. Nicolette was both friend and family doctor.
“Wait, you have Varicocele and you never mentioned it. All these years of being on bended knees wasted. You mocked my prayers, and watched life drain out of me. Twenty years George!” She placed her hands on her head while pacing the little office. “When were you going to tell me George? When”. She looked at George who was visibly shaking. “You are suddenly deaf abi” She hissed. “I am finished. The two persons I trust in the world are the ones that have secretly mocked me. Nicolette, why did you do this, I trus…….”
“It is against medical etiquettes, I did not want to breach the doctor-patient relationship”.
“Please spear me the excuses, we are more of sisters. You sit and watch while I die, and you say etiquettes. Rubbish. Typical nonsen…..”
“I have had enough of the blame game. You are just sounding like a victim of some prank. You too have a part in your childlessness. Or tell me, have you told George your cervix is damaged?”
“How? What the hell are you talking about?” asked George finding his voice.

“You see, am done”. She stormed out of the office.
She got home and began to pack her bag. The last thing she wanted was to be confronted by George.
“Would you start talking to me, how did your cervix get damaged. When were you going to tell me?” George barked
She kept quiet.
“Answer me” He said
“You do not want the answer to that question” She said emotionlessly
“My friend, you better talk before I loose my cool”
“I had an abortion. I was never going to tell you.”
“For who?”
“That is not necessary, it happened before we met. “
“You are my wife and you deceived me for twenty years. I deserve an explanation”. He retorted.

George was startled. He sat on the bed and bowed his head. He knew she was no saint, but he expexted more. “You lied to me, all these years. Just leave my house.”
“I was already packing. Thank you for everything. I’d come back for my other belongings and of course drop your keys with your secretary. I already called the lawyer for a divorce” She picked her bags and left. Her words were free of regrets.
She had to see her son!
