Love-Life of Asante - Episode 22

The effect of the break up between Asante and Abraham was so terrible that she decided she wasn't gonna date no boy again.

For two days Asante refused to eat, bathe or even go to class. She had really gone that deep with Abraham.

The more she thinks about the whole thing the leaner she grew. Especially since she had refused to eat too.

By the third day Asante was already looking like a letter "i" that the writer forgot to put a full stop on top. She was very lean.

At this point the friends decided to take an aggressive move since their calm pleas hitherto seems to have proven abortive.

"Stop this jare. Ah ah. This is the third day since the incident na. I know it’s not quite easy but you should not harm yourself because of a boy na" Adesuwa said protesting against her attitude since she had the break up.

"At least if not for anything else, for your health sake. Please" Adesuwa added still trying to convince her of the need to eat and bathe.

Asante was still lying on her bed and she gave no response to her plea. As a matter of fact she didn't even give a flinch. She kept on staring at the ceiling intently like one who was about to lose her mind.

Akosua then sat on the bed that she was lying, to see how she could further convince her or something

. "Asantenwa, this is not fair oh.” Akosua said, calling her the Ghanaian variant of her name.

“You should at least talk to us your friends na. Even if not for friendship sake but as roommates. How do you now want us to feel that you refuse to eat for the past two days and not even take your bath? Ah ahna, you are a lady. This is not close to being good for your health at all." Akosua added rubbing Asante’s left hand this time around to see if that would have an effect on her. Yet no response.

Putting her hands on her waist in amazement, Adesuwa said "I haven't seen this kind of thing before oh. It's like we don't even know you anymore"With anger that she wasn't responding to them, she picked up her phone to call Ayo.

Since Asante was fond of Ayo, perhaps she might just answer him even though she didn't answer others. Moreover, Adesuwa was already getting intimate with Ayo already and would easily want to relate anything that comes up around her with him. Only that this case, they both had Asante in common.

In about thirty minute’s time, Ayo had come. His hostel wasn’t quite far from theirs since he was on-campus. Coincidentally, Asher was in Ayo's place when Adesuwa had called. So he came along with him.

Asher had started to make moves to get acquainted to Akosua the more. Since Ayo had known her and her friends for some time now more than he does, he thought getting close to Ayo will be a good step to learn how to show Akosua his love the more...

"Oh, you even came around too?" Adesuwa said in amazement, when she saw Asher who supposedly wasn't that close to them yetbut had taken time to come around.

"Yes. I was with Ayo when you called. Whatever affects you guys definitely affects me" Asher said responding to Adesuwa's statement.

Akosua couldn't help but blush. She was however too shy to say anything as when Asher stepped in, it was like a bucket of water with ice was poured on her. Coupled with the fact that she was just on a Pijamas, as she wasn't expecting him. She was quite use to Ayo already.

On finding out that she had refused to eat or bathe for the past two days, Ayo and Asher decided to use a different approach in talking to her.

Ayo took her two hands and began to draw her out of the bed as they all kept on begging her to get up as they added humor to make her laugh.

"If you don't bathe and eat, I will not give you peace oh. This sleep you won't see it lie lie." Ayo said as he kept on dragging her out of the bed.

Soon they were able to convince her. She then had her bathe and had to eat the food right in the presence of the four. The food was prepared by Akosua – pepperish as usual.

She was then refreshed and strengthened. In about two to three weeks’ time. It was like Asante was never in love. She forgot about Abraham and lost affection for him totally and even for the male gender. She wasn't also moved whenever she saw Asher and Akosua or Ayo and Adesuwa sharing their intimacy. She was fed up with love.

This continued until about year four when she was 23 years old. She never thought the appearance of a man could ever get her attention again. But definitely not Gideon. The coming of Gideon the mighty man of Valor soon brought back love in her.
