Immediately Ariel said the word

"soulmate"

Grey's entire body went still, he could not process what was happening,

neither can he process the word he just heard, he stared straight at Ariel and he could feel his heart racing fast,

he wasted no time in rolling off her quickly as he can

His eyes widen in shock,

he took a deep breath and looked at Ariel again, he was immediately hit by series of emotion

No, no, no, this can not be happening, Grey said, a bit out of breath as he paced around 

What did you do to me? Grey said trying to glare at Ariel but he could not bring himself to do it,

he cursed softly as he crossed his hands waiting for her response

Ariel who was still on the ground looking shock, stood up immediately she heard Grey's question 

What do you mean by that stupid question? Ariel asked getting slightly irritated being in the presence of a demon

I'm the one who is suppose to ask you that question, Ariel said rasing her voice,

she was getting really angry,

you demon's are cunning creatures and you can do anything evil, she added

Grey shook his head at her, he was not fazed by her sudden outburst, he had a lot of things running through his mind

 

After few minutes of stretch silence between them,

Ariel suddenly Spoke

 

I don't understand this, Ariel said as she shook her head,

we did not even make skin to skin contact, how come we can feel the bond 

Grey frowned at her word,

what do she mean  by skin to skin contact, he thought to himself

Grey did not really know anything about soulmate bond,

he never pay attention to his mother whenever she was talking about soulmate bond 

I thought its not important to have a soulmate and now I don't understand what this Little Angel is talking about,

what does she mean by skin to skin contact, Grey said to himself  again,

but this time in anger, I wish I had listen to my mother he added

 

What do you mean by skin to skin contact? Grey asked swallowing his pride,

he needed to know

Ariel snapped her head to look at Grey,

she was looking at him as if he just asked a question, he is suppose to know the answer to

Why are you asking me as if you don't know, Ariel said

Grey got angry at her words

if I know, I would not have asked  Grey snapped 

Ariel looked at him and she could tell he was telling the truth about not knowing what she meant by skin to skin contact,

she does not know how she could tell him, he was telling the truth, but she just does 

Ariel took a deep breath before she spoke,
 

Soulmate must make skin to skin contact in other to feel the bond they share,

they need to make the contact for about 30seconds she added 

Grey listened attentively to Ariel,

he loved the sound of her voice, it sounds like music to his hears,

he quickly cleared his throat, when he realize he was falling prey to his emotions 

We should just ensure that we never make skin to skin contact, Grey mumbled,

he refused to look at Ariel again, because anytime he does he always lost himself staring at her

I don't know why this is even happening, Ariel whispered,

I always wanted a soulmate but not a demon soulmate,

she said getting really stressed about what was happening to her 

Grey looked at her, after hearing the distress in her voice,

he had the urge to comfort her, he did not like the way she was stressed,

he quickly shook off the thought  from his head and he moved backward a little leaving more space between them

 

"This Angel is messing with my senses" he whispered to himself.

I can't believe I am paired with an Angel, this creature killed my father, he muttered angrily,

This has to be a mistake, he added I can't have an "Angel soulmate",

Even though I don't want a female demon as my soulmate, I would rather prefer one now, than this Angel standing here he said to himself

He actually knows deep down that what he said about having a demon soulmate, is better than having the Angel standing here with him as soulmate is a big lie,

but he ignored the voice in his head Calling him a "liar" 

Grey was in deep thought, so was Ariel, they were both thinking about what to do,

Ariel on the other hand does not seem to have any idea 

What are we going to do? Ariel asked,

she does not understand why fate decide to punish her, by giving her a demon soulmate,

haven't this demon's done enough to my family already, why do I have to get one she said to herself

 

Grey was silent for sometime, before he answered the question after giving a thought about it 

I don't want this bond, and so do you, we will just find a way to break this bond,

Grey said looking determined to find any way to break the bond, because he doesn't want it.

Once all of this is over, I will definitely kill you myself, Grey said,

but immediately he said he word "kill" he felt a shiver run down his spine,  but he ignored the feeling, 

"This will be over soon" he muttered angrily

I make sure you will be the first demon I will kill, Ariel replied angrily to Grey's word, 

Grey was a little surprise that she has not kill a demon before, especially with the skills she has, 

You haven't really kill a demon before, Grey asked just to be sure he heard her correctly

" No" Ariel said 

But before Grey could say anything, Ariel's phone rang, making him swallow back his word,

Ariel glance at her screen and saw the caller ID,

it was her father calling, she took a deep breath before the answered the call

Immediately she picked the call, Raguel's voice rang through the phone

 

Where are you? Her father, Raguel asked 

Ariel could hear the panic in her father's voice, she was sure her mother has try contacting her, 

Dad, am alright, Ariel said trying to stay calm, even though the situation she is in right now is  overwhelming

Don't lie to me Ariel, I can tell when you are lying to me, Raguel said through the phone,

I tried contacting you through the "Angels whisper," after your mother told me she could not get through to you, Raguel added 

But dad......

Ariel's word was cut off by her father's stern voice

Come home now, Raguel said as he ended the call 

Ariel sigh softly,

she don't like the situation she is in right now, and all this things was happening because of this stupid demon standing in front of me, 

She actually felt bad a little for calling him "stupid" but she brushed it off quickly,

I can't let my feelings get hold of me, she  whisper to herself

Daddy's girl, Grey said with a smirk 

Ariel ignored his words, she does not even have the strength to exchange word with him,

she needs to get home as quickly as possible.

We are going to meet here tomorrow, so we can figure everything out, but right now I have to leave she said

Don't order me around, Grey said angrily,

AM not some daddy's boy who does not have things to do,

if I make it here tomorrow, fine, but if I don't we will surely meet another time.

What things do you have to do? Ariel said marching his angry tone,

You mean things like killing Angels, Ariel muttered 

Yes, Grey said with a smug look,

they are actually fun to kill, especially when they are captured and tortured, their scream are like music to my hears Grey said bluntly

Ariel was frowing as she watched Grey speak about Angels in a despicable manner,

Her frown deepens when she heard the way Angels are tortured by demons 

"These creatures are really heartless" she said to herself

"I hate you" Ariel blurted out

The feeling is mutual, Grey said

He watched as Ariel flashed her wings and vanished leaving him standing alone,

Grey sighed softly, he walked Slowly around the field, 

 

Why is this things happening, Grey whisper to himself, 

Fate cannot be that cruel to pair me up with an Angel, 

This soulmate bond is the least of my problem right now,

I don't even have any Angel to return home with,

I'm so much in trouble Grey said as he shook his head

After walking for few more minutes, Grey decided to go back home, he took a breath before he vanished

Ariel landed in the living room, she saw her father sitting on the couch,

she knows her father has sense her presence, but he refused to look at her

Dad, Ariel said as she moved closer to her father,

Raguel lifted his head, he stared at his daughter intensely without saying a word,

Ariel shifted uncomfortably, she does not like her fathers silent.

Dad! She called out again

Where are you coming from? Raguel finally asked

I was out in the field, Ariel responded

What happened out there? Raguel asked

Ariel could not bring herself to speak at once, how can she possibly tell her father that she has a bond with a demon,

she shook the thought from her head

Nothing happened dad, Ariel finally said 

Raguel look at his daughter, he shook his head,

I don't know why you are lying to me, I just hope you know what you are doing, Raguel said as he stood up and walk pass his daughter.

Ariel hurried upstairs to her room and shut the door behind her,

she hates lying to her parents but she cannot tell them what is happening 

She fell on her bed as tears stream down her face

Grey got home, feeling very angry about everything that happened today,

he took out his anger on every demon he came across when making his way to his house.

Immediately, he entered the house, he saw his mother sitting on the couch as if she was waiting for him to return

Anna looked at her son and she could tell something was not right with him, he looked very angry

Grey! Anna called out to her son,

but Grey did not even say a word to her as he walked out on her and went straight to his bedroom,

he shut the door and went into the shower

immediately,  the water touched his skin, he  finally felt a bit calm,

he quickly dry himself up and went straight to bed

He sighed softly, 

"Why an Angel"

he whispered to himself as he drift off to sleep.
