The Meeting
Day 2 (evening)
She was going to spoil him silly.
It was their anniversary, anything was allowed, anything positive of course.
She made his favorite dish. His love for Coconut rice was something else.
She was mind up, this anniversary would not suffer pain. They would have fun, mad fun. She wore a long brown chiffon gown. He’d be pleased. Brown was his colour.
“Baby, am home”
“Happy anniversary darling” She said then hugged him and kissed him passionately.
“Darling, you go freshen up, food is ready.” She told him.
” Alright Bae. Your dress is amazing. Please tell me you are my anniversary gift” he said boyishly.
She found herself blushing. “Well, you’d have not to be silly, our meal is getting cold”
Twenty minutes later, he was downstairs. She had carefully selected what he had on. It was an amazing evening wear. Cream colored shirt on a black trousers.
She dished their meal. After saying the grace, they began eating, she watched him eat. “Oh God! He was perfect!”. She was indeed lucky. “Thank you for the gift darling, I love it” She said happily.
“It is nothing bae, your happiness is my priority”. She could feel the sincerity in his voice

“It is a car sweetheart! My car broke down last week. We agreed we’d buy a new engine. You always amaze me. Thank you dear.”
“My pleasure bae. A new car is also a new engine” he said and winked
“Happy anniversary dear” she said handing a bag to him. He dropped his spoon and reached for the bag. he hurriedly opened it. He began to empty the bag. He brought out different patterned socks, a beautiful white shirt and then a box. He opened it. It was a wrist watch! it had their wedding picture as it’s background! She actually was unimaginable.
“I love you sweetie” He said rising from his chair. He dragged her gently out off the chair she sat on and led her to the sofa. He had been blessed by God.

. He began to kiss her. She shove him off.
“Am having my period, sweetie. I’d make it up to you. I …….”
“Bae, I know. We are going to have fun. I could kiss you all night and not touch you. It is our night bae. It is exactly twenty years of marriage” he said.
“Okay dear”.
His pone rang, he rose to turn it off but taking a second glance, he decided otherwise and left for the kitchen to answer his call.
“Hello……..Yes…….Am home……….you can not come tonight………..exactly……Am with my wife……Maybe some other time…..What the hell?…..who let you in?……My wife would kill me…..And I’d ruin you in turn……..Okay” The call ended.
“Bae am sorry” he said
“It is okay. Who called?”
“An old friend who just returned from France. We met last week “
“It all good. I hear a knock on the door, let me get it” she said and headed for the door.
She opened the door, and became a ghost of herself…..
