The Emerald Chase - Episode 29

Several minutes later, they were on the streets buying all sort of assorted meat and junk foods..

"Oh my God Darren look!! Kebab!!"

Emerald squeals excitedly as she runs to the meat vendor and buys two sticks of kebab...

"Here. Taste it!"

She pushes it into his face but he frowns and pulls back

"No.. It may be infested with worms"

"My God!!! Are you for real? taste it.. Just one please!!"

She pouts.. He sighs and takes one Into his mouth.

"Hmm not bad.... But I still stand my ground.. I will need to go for check up early tomorrow. I dont want to get sick"

She laughs and drags him as they keep walking.... Suddenly she stops.. He looks at her.

"What?"

"Hear that? My favourite song!"

She looks around wondering where the music was coming from and then spots a karaoke bar a few metres away...

"Shall we dance?"

She asks He raises his eyebrows

"Here? On the streets?"

She nods.... He looks around, very few people were passing by... He counted.... Six... He puts his hands around her waist and she places one hand on his shoulder and the other in his left palm as they began to dance to Beyonce's song...

She could feel her heart racing wildly as they danced, his eyes piercing into hers.... She stepped away when the music stopped playing..

"I'm just a boy...and I know how it feels to love a girl"

He whispers into her ears.

"Errr... I ....I want ice cream"

She stammers breathing heavily trying to avoid the conversation..

"My God!! Why does he make my heart beat so fast and slow at the same time?"

She looks away....

"I want strawberry and vanilla mixed with cherries..."

"You want some?"

She turns to Darren who shakes his head.... They walk to a corner and he watches as she scoops the icecream into her mouth...

"Hmmm. Yummy"

She groans...

"Here taste it"

"No.. I don't eat sweets..."

"My God!! Don't you ever eat? You are missing out on a lot"

She pouts..

"I do but not the kind that you girls eat.... OK tell me one thing... What nutrients does this icecream contain?"

He folds his arm

"Hmm.. There's strawberry.. Good for the skin I think..... And sugar... Well sugar isn't so good but still... And oh... I think there's milk In here too... Good in protein.. See?"

She raises her arm mimicking how he had shown her his biceps back in his apartment. He glanced at her arm and burst out laughing.... She frowns..

"What's funny? Can't you see my muscles?"

"I can see you are mocking me but do you call that muscles?"

She pinches him and he smiles.. She smiles back.

"Taste the icecream please?"

He raises an eyebrow

"Please?"

"Fine"

he opens his mouth as she feeds him..

"You want more?"

He nods and she feeds him again

"Another?"

He nods again.. 'Since when did you start eating icecream....'he asks himself Well, he didn't like them but he would eat it continuously if it meant spending time with her. She takes the spoon to his mouth and it spills on his shirt, the rest smeared on his chin...

"Oh I'm so sorry"

"It's okay"

"No.. Allow me"

she stands on tiptoe and begins to wipe with the icecream off his chin with her thumb..... Their faces were close now and she kept staring at his lips...

"Emerald"

He whispers... She swallows hard... Hearing him say her name like that sounded like music to her ears.

"Darren?"

"I....I can't control it"

He was looking at her in a way she couldn't comprehend... Was it lust, desire, or maybe love.

"Control what? She looks at him confused..

"This!"

He says and pulls her to him, capturing her lips in a kiss... She tries to pull away but her body seemed to be stuck.. Slowly, she relaxes in his embrace.

She drops the cup of icecream to the ground and wraps her arms around his neck.. Darren stiffens when he felt her arms around him and as if realising he hadn't asked for permission, he pulls away...

"I'm sorry"

"I'm not"

She says before pulling him back and kisses him hard.... She nudges his mouth open and he does so eagerly kissing her with the same intensity and passion.

Their tongues intertwined and gliding over each other sending shivers down each others spine.. Wanting more, Emerald leans in to him, her breasts touching his hard chest and kisses him deeper running her fingers through his silky hair.

Darren groans.. Damn!!! This woman was going to be the death of him... How could someone who hadn't been kissed before kiss so well... He was going crazy and if he didn't pull away, he was going to end up taking her clothes, right there on the streets... He pulls back and stares at her, looking all dazed from their make out session...

"Damn Emerald!! Never have I had a kiss like this before"

He mutters gasping for breath and she blushes.

"Can we go out sometime? I mean no work related... Like a real date..

she nods...

"Umm. I have to go now"

She turns quickly avoiding his gaze.. Her cheeks burned... She didn't need a soothsayer to tell her she was blushing like a teenager... When she walks a few metres away, she stops and turns to find him still staring at her... She runs to him and kisses him on the cheek.

"No matter what might be troubling you, you should always keep smiling like the way you are right now"

And then she turns and runs off leaving him standing there grinning sheepishly.

Damn!! He mutters again licking his lips.
